About:
Commissioner Shawn proudly serves Precinct 4 on the Wise County Commissioners Court. Since being elected, he has remained a full-time, hands-on representative, committed to responsive governance and practical solutions for his constituents. His time in office has been defined by conservative financial stewardship, transparent communication, and long-term planning on key issues like roads, water, public safety, and growth.
Commissioner Shawn is currently a member of the VG Young Institute of County Government Commissioners Court Leadership Academy, a two year program that builds advanced skills and knowledge for Texas County Commissioners and Judges.
He also serves at the national level, representing Wise County on the Transportation Steering Committee for the National Association of Counties (NACo). Within NACo, Commissioner Shawn is also honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Highways and Highway Safety Subcommittee, giving Wise County a direct voice on federal infrastructure policy.
Commissioner Shawn is also a proud graduate of both the NACo High Performance Leadership Academy and the Leadership on Purpose Academy—training programs that strengthen decision-making, communication, and leadership in public service.
Locally, the Commissioner is a member of the Wise County Development Rules and Regulations Committee, where he helps shape policies that directly impact land use, subdivision planning, and development standards.
